The Thin Man from Charlie's Angels

While I usually do not like smokers, I could not help but admire the Thin Man's style. How he showed up at the party and led the three angels into the alley only to fight all three of them before taking off with ease letting their little trap unfold. His strange quirk with the hair sniffing was actually something I did not pay that much attention to until the second movie came out.

If I had not already fascinated after the first movie, the new information on his current actions and the hints at his past would certainly have done the job. Considering his miraculous ability to survive when it seems impossible I certainly hope that if there is a third movie, that the Thin Man or Anthony as the nuns call him, will show up again.

The Thin Man and Dylan

Those two are one of the few canon pairings I actually like and ship. Even after the first part I had the impression there was something going on between them.

Not just the fact that he seemed to favour her hair above anyone elses, it was the fact that he clearly saw the sheet after his employer had thrown Dylan out of the window. He must have known that she was still alive. Yet, he failed to pass on this information to his employer. That the Thin Man had a crush on Dylan became fairly obvious during the motor cycle race scene in Full Throttle.

Dylan has of course her fatal attraction for the bad guys and I think there was probably always some tension there. When she found out that the Thin Man was still alive, I felt that she looked somehow relieved.

Brainpower:

The Thin Man obviously works alone, always seems to be one step ahead of the Angels, as shown by him appearing at the motorcylce race and later on the roof top.(7 out of 10)

Physical:

Whether it is car racing, dirty allies or high roof tops, the Thin Man is there to fight it out. He also loves to pull out people's hair and likes to play it rough. (10 out of 10)

Skill:

An assassin with many talents, he is not only skilled with many weapons, but also with driving and many other tricks. Not least his ability to stay under the radar. (9 out of 10)

Presence:

Certainly someone who gets instant attention wherever he his around. On top of his strange haircut he has certain way of moving, that says more than a thousands words. Not that he ever says anything. (10 out of 10)

Sex Appeal:

He might have a few odd habits, not to mention a strange haircut, but he has an unique style. Although he looks sexist when holding Dylan in his arms, it's hard not to think about how sexy he looks on his own.(7 out of 10)

Toughness:

A hard to kill character, a rocket explosion, a fall from bridge with a car did not kill him. He fights all three Angels and I would not be surprised if he might even come out alive after the fall from the roof top.(10 out of 10)

Badness

He might have some mean streaks being a killer and all, but the only people he killed were a ruthless businessman, a few mobsters and another colleague of his. It seems his wager mostly went to supporting the catholic orphanage where he grew up. He also went ahead saving Leo and Dylan, which certainly draws a few stars. (3 out of 10)

Fanfiction involving the Thin Man

When it comes to fanfic about the Thin Man I prefer read about him paired with Dylan. There was a time after the second movie came out, when a certain list on Y!Groups was filled with the most wonderful fanfics all about this pairing. A lot of them have disappeared from ff.net which I luckily have saved. Others are still there, and some are unfortunately unfinished just as my own.
